Stop Sharia!!!

From J. Sekulow at ACLJ comes word that Egypt has submitted the annual Defamation of Religions resolution to a U.N. committee. Sekulow expects a vote to occur within a few weeks.

He reports that the ECLJ has been engaged in heavy lobbying this week, attempting to preserve our precious liberty. A recent blog post: U.N. Resolving to Silence Islamophobes explains why the resolution is absolutely intolerable. It also contains links to the draft resolution, ECLJ's legal analysis of the resolution, and related blog posts & petitions.

ACLJ has a petition against the resolution. I am one of the 86,539 who have signed their petition. I urge you to join us in condemning Islam's attempt to throw the net of their blasphemy law over our heads.

O11.10 [Dhimmitude: the treaty 'protecting' conquered Jews, Christians & Zoroastrians from further egregious predation.]

The agreement is also violated (A: with respect to the offender alone) if the state has stipulated that any of the following things break it, and one of the subjects does so anyway, though if the state has not stipulated that these break the agreement, then they do not; namely, if one of the subject people:

-1- commits adultery with a Muslim woman or marries her;

-2- conceals spies of hostile forces;

-3- leads a Muslim away from Islam;

-4- kills a Muslim;

-5- or mentions something impermissible about Allah, the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace), or Islam.


O8.7: Acts that Entail Leaving Islam

(O: Among the things that entail apostasy from Islam (may Allah protect us from them) are:

-1- to prostrate to an idol, whether sarcastically, out of mere contrariness, or in actual conviction, like that of someone who believes the Creator to be something that has originated in time. Like idols in this respect are the sun or moon, and like prostration is bowing to other than Allah, if one intends reverence towards it like the reverence due to Allah;

-2- to intend to commit unbelief, even if in the future. And like this intention is hesitating whether to do so or not: one thereby immediately commits unbelief;

-3- to speak words that imply unbelief such as ``Allah is the third of three,'' or ``I am Allah''-unless one's tongue has run away with one, or one is quoting another, or is one of the friends of Allah Most High (wali, def: w33) in a spiritually intoxicated state of total oblivion (A: friend of Allah or not, someone totally oblivious is as if insane, and is not held legally responsible (dis: k13.1(O:) ) ), for these latter do not entail unbelief;

-4- to revile Allah or His messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace);

-5- to deny the existence of Allah, His beginingless eternality, His endless eternality, or to deny any of His attributes which the consensus of Muslims ascribes to Him (dis: v1);

-6- to be sarcastic about Allah's name, His command, His interdiction, His promise, or His threat;

-7- to deny any verse of the Koran or anything which by scholarly consensus (def: b7) belongs to it, or to add a verse that does belong to it;

-8- to mockingly say, ``I don't know what faith is'';

-9- to reply to someone who says, ``There is no power or strength save through Allah''; ``Your saying `There's no power or strength, etc,' won't save you from hunger'';

-10- for a tyrant, after an oppressed person says, ``This is through the decree of Allah,'' to reply, ``I act without the decree of Allah'';

-11- to say that a Muslim is an unbeliever (kafir) (dis: w47) in words that are uninterpretable as merely meaning he is an ingrate towards Allah for divinely given blessings (n: in Arabic, also ``kafir'');

-12- when someone asks to be taught the Testification of Faith (Ar. Shahada, the words, ``La ilaha ill Allahu Muhammadun rasulu Llah'' (There is no god but Allah, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah) ), and a Muslim refuses to teach him it;

-13- to describe a Muslim or someone who wants to become a Muslim in terms of unbelief (kufr);

-14- to deny the obligatory character of something which by the consensus of Muslims (ijma`, def: B7) is part of Islam, when it is well known as such, like the prayer (salat) or even one rak'a from one of the five obligatory prayers, if there is no excuse (def: u2.4);

-15- to hold that any of Allah's messengers or prophets are liars, or to deny their being sent;

(n: `Ala' al-din' Abidin adds the following:

-16- to revile the religion of Islam;

-17- to believe that things in themselves or by their own nature have any causal influence independent of the will of Allah;

-18- to deny the existence of angels or jinn (def: w22), or the heavens;

-19- to be sarcastic about any ruling of the Sacred Law;

-20- or to deny that Allah intended the Prophet's message (Allah bless him and give him peace) to be the religion followed by the entire world (dis: w4.3-4) (al-Hadiyya al-`Ala'iyya (y4), 423-24). )

There are others, for the subject is nearly limitless. May Allah Most High save us and all Muslims from it.)

Such non-Muslim subjects are obliged to comply with Islamic rules that pertain to the safety and indemnity of life, reputation, and property. In addition, they:

-1- are penalized for committing adultery or theft, thought not for drunkenness;

-2- are distinguished from Muslims in dress, wearing a wide cloth belt (zunnar);

-3- are not greeted with "as-Salamu 'alaykum";

-4- must keep to the side of the street;

-5- may not build higher than or as high as the Muslims' buildings, though if they acquire a tall house, it is not razed;

-6- are forbidden to openly display wine or pork, (A: to ring church bells or display crosses,) recite the Torah or Evangel aloud, or make public display of their funerals and feastdays;

-7- and are forbidden to build new churches.

Obama: Muslim or Christian; What's the Difference?

Is he or ain't he? Only Barack Hussein Obama knows for sure. Whats the difference?

If he is a genuine convert to Christianity, the threats he poses are limited to the consequences of his:
  • Communist ideology
  • alliances:
    • terrorists
      • Ayers
      • Khalidi
    • racists
      • Wright
    • racketeers
    • vote fraud practitioners
      • Acorn
  • inexperience
  • incompetence.
If his conversion from Islam to Christianity was a scam perpetrated for political expediency, then electing him is, in effect installing an enemy agent as Commander in Chief. Abysmal ignorance of the doctrines of Islam recorded in the Qur'an & Hadith prevents many members of the American Electorate from comprehending the adverse consequences of electing a Muslim to high office.
22:41. Those (Muslim rulers) who, if We give them power in the land, (they) order for Iqamat-as-Salât. [i.e. to perform the five compulsory congregational Salât (prayers) (the males in mosques)], to pay the Zakât and they enjoin Al-Ma'rûf (i.e. Islâmic Monotheism and all that Islâm orders one to do), and forbid Al-Munkar (i.e. disbelief, polytheism and all that Islâm has forbidden) [i.e. they make the Qur'ân as the law of their country in all the spheres of life]. And with Allâh rests the end of (all) matters (of creatures).
The phrases highlighted in red above basically mean that a Muslim who obtains power will impose Sharia. The translator's comment, highlighted in purple, confirms that fact. Do you really want to give that power to the enemy? A Muslim President would pack the court system with Muslims & Dhimmis, life time appointments that can not be rescinded.

24:55. Allâh has promised those among you who believe, and do righteous good deeds, that He will certainly grant them succession to (the present rulers) in the earth, as He granted it to those before them, and that He will grant them the authority to practise their religion, that which He has chosen for them (i.e. Islâm). And He will surely give them in exchange a safe security after their fear (provided) they (believers) worship Me and do not associate anything (in worship) with Me. But whoever disbelieved after this, they are the Fâsiqûn (rebellious, disobedient to Allâh).
(And those who believe and do righteous good deeds,) meaning, their hearts were truthful and their limbs obedient with the righteous acts they were commanded, [The Reward of Righteous Believers]
Righteous good deeds: code words for Jihad. What righteous acts were they commanded to perform? 8:39, 9:29. They intend to take power, by force or by stealth; why should we give it to them? Why should we yield our hard won liberties? How will we ever recover our hard won liberties when the enemy has taken control of our armed forces?


12:40. "You do not worship besides Him but only names which you have named (forged), you and your fathers, for which Allâh has sent down no authority. The command (or the judgement) is for none but Allâh. He has commanded that you worship none but Him (i.e. His Monotheism), that is the (true) straight religion, but most men know not.
Only Islam's demon has the right to rule. Legislation contrary to his Qur'an or Moe's sunnah is not allowed.

33:36 It is not for a believer, man or woman, when Allâh and His Messenger have decreed a matter that they should have any option in their decision. And whoever disobeys Allâh and His Messenger, he has indeed strayed in a plain error.
Allah rules. His Messenger and his Caliphs decide and that is the end of the matter. That is not how our Constitution works. Why do you want to risk losing our Constitution? Why are you willing to risk imposition of Islamic theocratic tyranny?

Under Islamic law, any child born to a Muslim father is Muslim. Renouncing Islam and converting to a real religion is a capital offense. Apostates must be killed if they do not recant & revert. Why then do Muslims; even Islamic terrorists, want Barack Hussein Obama to be elected? Why aren't they issuing and attempting to carry out fatwas against him? Obviously, they believe that his conversion was a sham. Obviously, they believe that his policies will be favorable to them.

They may be right. We can't take that chance. If Barack Hussein Obama truly abandoned Islam and converted to Christianity, let him curse and condemn the damnable doctrines of Islam which sanctify & mandate aggressive conquest against Pagans & 'people of the book', genocide & terrorism.

If he is a closet Muslim, he won't abjure those doctrines because he believes them. In that case, we don't want him. If he is a Christian, but unwilling to offend Muslims by telling the truth about their curse worthy doctrines & practices, then he has no salt or savor, and is unworthy of high office.

In either case, Barack Hussein Obama must be rejected because he can not be trusted with the high office he seeks.

U.N. Resolving to Censor Criticism of Islam

Res62/154 Combating defamation of religions will come up for a vote in the current General Assembly session.
According to the Jewish Daily Forward, our State Department opposes it: U.S. Mounting Effort To Counter Limits on Speech Critical of Islam. If you want the legalese arguments, read the ECLJ legal analysis here..

Generally, I would bypass the flowery fluff and get right to the nitty gritty, but this target rich excrement can't be ignored.[Emphasis added.]
Reaffirming the need for all States to continue their national and international
efforts to enhance dialogue and broaden understanding among civilizations,
cultures, religions and beliefs, and emphasizing that States, regional organizations,
non-governmental organizations, religious bodies and the media have an important
role to play in promoting tolerance, respect for and freedom of religion and belief,
How in Hell can anyone tolerate, respect or promote tolerance of or respect for or freedom to believe these execrable tenets:
  • divine mandate to conquer & subjugate the entire world
    • ...to make it superior over all religions even though the Mushrikûn (polytheists, pagans, idolaters, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allâh) hate (it). [9:33]
    • ...fight them until there is no more Fitnah (disbelief and polytheism: i.e. worshipping others besides Allâh) and the religion (worship) will all be for Allâh Alone... [8:39]
    • Fight against those who (1) believe not in Allâh, (2) nor in the Last Day, (3) nor forbid that which has been forbidden by Allâh and His Messenger (4) and those who acknowledge not the religion of truth (i.e. Islâm) among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued. [9:29]
    • "I have been ordered to fight the people till they say: 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah.' And if they say so, pray like our prayers, face our Qibla and slaughter as we slaughter, then their blood and property will be sacred to us and we will not interfere with them except legally and their reckoning will be with Allah." [Sahih Bukhari1.8.387]
      • That is not empty doctrine, it is Islamic law: Reliance of the Traveller, Book O [Justice]:
        • O9.1: The Obligatory Character of Jihad..."Jihad is a communal obligation," meaning upon the Muslims each year.
        • O-9.8: The Objectives of Jihad The caliph (o-25) makes war upon Jews, Christians, and Zoroastrians...

  • the sacrament of genocide
    • It is not for a Prophet that he should have prisoners of war (and free them with ransom) until he had made a great slaughter (among his enemies) in the land....[8:67]
    • So, when you meet (in fight Jihâd in Allâh's Cause), those who disbelieve smite at their necks till when you have killed and wounded many of them, then bind a bond firmly (on them, i.e. take them as captives).[47:4]
  • the sacrament of casting terror
    • We shall cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve... [3:151]
    • ...I will cast terror into the hearts of those who have disbelieved, so strike them over the necks, and smite over all their fingers and toes." [8:12]
    • ...Allâh brought them down from their forts and cast terror into their hearts, (so that) a group (of them) you killed, and a group (of them) you made captives. [33:26]
    • Allah made me victorious by awe, (by His frightening my enemies) for a distance of one month's journey [Sahih Bukhari1.7.331]
Deeply alarmed at the rising trends towards discrimination based on religion
and faith, including in some national policies and laws that stigmatize groups of
people belonging to certain religions and faiths under a variety of pretexts relating
to security and illegal immigration,

  • Accusations of this nature require specificity & proof. Where are the specifications? Where is the proof?
Alarmed at the serious instances of intolerance, discrimination and acts of
violence based on religion or belief
, intimidation and coercion motivated by
extremism, religious or otherwise, occurring in many parts of the world, in addition
to the negative projection of Islam in the media and the introduction and
enforcement of laws that specifically discriminate against and target Muslims
,
particularly Muslim minorities following the events of 11 September 2001, and
threatening the enjoyment of human rights and fundamental freedoms,

  • Where are these acts of violence taking place?
    • Who is perpetrating them?
    • Who are the victims?
  • What laws? What nation passed and is enforcing them?
Expresses its deep concern about the negative stereotyping of religions
and manifestations of intolerance and discrimination in matters of religion or belief

  • Are you officious, obsequious anal orifices concerned with the negative stereotyping , intolerance & discrimination enshrined in the Qur'an & Islamic law?
    • 8:55. Verily, The worst of moving (living) creatures before Allâh are those who disbelieve , - so they shall not believe.

Indignity is put over them wherever they may be, except when under a covenant (of protection) from Allâh, and from men; they have drawn on themselves the Wrath of Allâh, and destruction is put over them. This is because they disbelieved in the Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allâh and killed the Prophets without right. This is because they disobeyed (Allâh) and used to transgress beyond bounds (in Allâh's disobedience, crimes and sins).
    • 3:85. And whoever seeks a religion other than Islâm, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers.
    • 9:30. And the Jews say: 'Uzair (Ezra) is the son of Allâh, and the Christians say: Messiah is the son of Allâh. That is a saying from their mouths. They imitate the saying of the disbelievers of old. Allâh's Curse be on them, how they are deluded away from the truth!

  • Is there any deception more egregious than this? No intelligent & sane person who has read the Qur'an & hadith can be fooled by such lies. Terrorism is sanctified by 3:151, mandated by 8:12 and exemplified by 33:26, all cited above. Muhammad bragged about being made victorious with terror.
    • How in Hell can anyone read the Qur'an's imperatives to genocidal conquest and claim that Islam is not associated with rights violations?
    • How in Hell can anyone read the Qur'an's imperative to cast terror and claim that Islam is not associated with terrorism?
    • How in Hell can anyone read Moe's bragging about being made victorious with terror and claim that Islam is not associated with terrorism?
    • How in Hell can anyone have knowledge of Reliance of the Traveller Book O, Chapter 11, Paragraph 5 and claim that Islam does not violate human rights?
Recognizes that, in the context of the fight against terrorism and the
reaction to counter-terrorism measures, defamation of religions and incitement to
religious hatred becomes an aggravating factor that contributes to the denial of
fundamental rights and freedoms of members of target groups, as well as their
economic and social exclusion;

  • It is not possible to defame Islam!

      The Prophet set out for Khaibar and reached it at night. He used not to attack if he reached the people at night, till the day broke.     • 59:13. Verily, you (believers in the Oneness of Allah - Islamic Monotheism) are more awful as a fear in their (Jews of Bani An-Nadir) breasts than Allah. That is because they are a people who comprehend not (the Majesty and Power of Allah).
Deplores the use of the print, audio-visual and electronic media,
including the Internet, and any other means to incite acts of violence, xenophobia or
related intolerance and discrimination against Islam or any other religion, as well as
targeting of religious symbols;

  • How can a reasonable man, a lover of truth and liberty, refrain from screaming curses when reading such turd?
    • ...fight them until there is no more Fitnah (disbelief and polytheism: i.e. worshipping others besides Allâh) and the religion (worship) will all be for Allâh Alone... [8:39]
    • Fight against those who (1) believe not in Allâh, (2) nor in the Last Day, (3) nor forbid that which has been forbidden by Allâh and His Messenger (4) and those who acknowledge not the religion of truth (i.e. Islâm) among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.   • The egregious hypocrisy of this resolution is beyond sufferance. As-Samu-Alaikum!
Emphasizes that everyone has the right to hold opinions without
interference and the right to freedom of expression, and that the exercise of these
rights carries with it special duties and responsibilities and may therefore be subject
to limitations as are provided for by law and are necessary for respect of the rights
or reputations of others, protection of national security or of public order, public
health or morals and respect for religions and beliefs

  • Respect for human rights requires the elimination of Islam from the earth because it is a system of predation.
  • Respect for national security & public order requires the elimination of Islam from America because Islam sanctifies and mandates terrorism and annual attacks against Kuffar.
  • Respect for Judiasm & Christianity requires the elimination of Islam from the earth because Islam is supremely intolerant and declares perpetual war against Jews and Christians.
Urges States to take action to prohibit the advocacy of national, racial or
religious hatred that constitutes incitement to discrimination, hostility or violence;
  • Who will be the first to outlaw the Qur'an, Hadith & Sharia? Please sign the petition and send its url to your Congressman & Senators.
Calls upon the international community to foster a global dialogue to
promote a culture of tolerance and peace based on respect for human rights and
diversity of religion and belief, and urges States, non-governmental organizations,
religious bodies and the print and electronic media to support and participate in such
a dialogue

  • While only Allah has the right to be worshiped, what the Hell is there to dialogue about with Islam?
    • 3:2. Allâh! Lâ ilahâ illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), the Ever Living, the One Who sustains and protects all that exists.
Affirms that the Human Rights Council shall promote universal respect
for all religious and cultural values and address instances of intolerance,
discrimination and incitement of hatred against members of any community or
adherents of any religion;

      Allah's Apostle said, "The Hour will not be established until you fight with the Jews, and the stone behind which a Jew will be hiding will say. "O Muslim! There is a Jew hiding behind me, so kill him."
Because of the outrageous hypocrisy of Islam, the OIC, the UNHRC and the United Nations General Assembly, I urge and exhort all lovers of life & liberty to curse and condemn the above listed institutions and disrespectfully demand their abolition.

What's wrong with Islam?

Islam is aggressively violent, by design; irreparably. I quote Islamic law.[Emphasis added for clarity.]

Jihad is something Muslims must do against non-Muslims every year. Exactly what is it?

In 1786 Jefferson and John Adams went to negotiate with Tripoli's envoy to London, Ambassador Sidi Haji Abdrahaman or (Sidi Haji Abdul Rahman Adja). They asked him by what right he extorted money and took slaves. Jefferson reported to Secretary of State John Jay, and to the Congress:

The ambassador answered us that [the right] was founded on the Laws of the Prophet (Mohammed), that it was written in their Koran, that all nations who should not have answered their authority were sinners, that it was their right and duty to make war upon them wherever they could be found, and to make slaves of all they could take as prisoners, and that every Mussulman (or Muslim) who should be slain in battle was sure to go to heaven. Allah said:


8:39. And fight them until there is no more Fitnah (disbelief and polytheism: i.e. worshipping others besides Allâh) and the religion (worship) will all be for Allâh Alone [in the whole of the world ]....

9:29.Fight against those who (1) believe not in Allâh, (2) nor in the Last Day, (3) nor forbid that which has been forbidden by Allâh and His Messenger (4) and those who acknowledge not the religion of truth (i.e. Islâm) among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.

Muhammad said:

"I have been ordered to fight the people till they say: 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah.' Caliph Umar's general told the Persians:

...Our Prophet, the Messenger of our Lord, has ordered us to fight you till you worship Allah Alone or give Jizya (i.e. tribute); and our Prophet has informed us that our Lord says:-- "Whoever amongst us is killed (i.e. martyred), shall go to Paradise to lead such a luxurious life as he has never seen, and whoever amongst us remain alive, shall become your master."... Sahih Bukhari Volume 4, Book 53, Number 386
Compare the answer of Sidi Haji Abdrahaman to Bukhari4.53.386:
  • ordered us to fight you till you worship Allah Alone or give Jizya
    • that it was their right and duty to make war upon them
  • Whoever amongst us is killed (i.e. martyred), shall go to Paradise
    • every Mussulman (or Muslim) who should be slain in battle was sure to go to heaven.

What's Wrong With Muslims?

If they believe and are faithful, they obey Allah's commands by joining the Jihad, striving hard with their lives and their wealth. If not called to fight, they support Jihad with Zakat. How did the Holy Land Foundation raise $13M for Hamas?
8:2. The believers are only those who, when Allâh is mentioned, feel a fear in their hearts and when His Verses (this Qur'ân) are recited unto them, they (i.e. the Verses) increase their Faith; and they put their trust in their Lord (Alone);
61:10. O You who believe! Shall I guide you to a commerce that will save you from a painful torment.

61:11. That you believe in Allâh and His Messenger (Muhammad ), and that you strive hard and fight in the Cause of Allâh with your wealth and your lives, that will be better for you, if you but know!

61:12. (If you do so) He will forgive you your sins, and admit you into Gardens under which rivers flow, and pleasant dwelling in Gardens of 'Adn ­ Eternity ['Adn (Edn) Paradise], that is indeed the great success.

What is the relationship between Allah & Muslims?


9:111. Verily, Allâh has purchased of the believers their lives and their properties; for the price that theirs shall be the Paradise. They fight in Allâh's Cause, so they kill (others) and are killed. It is a promise in truth which is binding on Him in the Taurât (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel) and the Qur'ân. And who is truer to his covenant than Allâh? Then rejoice in the bargain which you have concluded. That is the supreme success .

That's what Muslims do; they kill. That's what's wrong with Muslims: they worship and obey a bloodthirsty demon who commands them to subjugate us.

Objections:

  • I have Muslim friends; nice people, well behaved.
    • Muslims are explicitly commanded, in several ayat, not to befriend Kuffar. I will cite one of them.
    • 60:1. O you who believe! Take not My enemies and your enemies (i.e. disbelievers and polytheists, etc.) as friends, showing affection towards them, while they have disbelieved in what has come to you of the truth (i.e. Islâmic Monotheism, this Qur'ân, and Muhammad ), and have driven out the Messenger (Muhammad ) and yourselves (from your homeland) because you believe in Allâh your Lord! If you have come forth to strive in My Cause and to seek My Good Pleasure, (then take not these disbelievers and polytheists, etc., as your friends). You show friendship to them in secret, while I am All-Aware of what you conceal and what you reveal. And whosoever of you (Muslims) does that, then indeed he has gone (far) astray, (away) from the Straight Path .
  • Most Muslims don't engage in Jihad.
    • Yet. They haven't been called by their Imam or Mullah. The Ummah is large and the battlefronts are relatively small. Once a sufficient number have answered the call, the rest are relieved unless an emergency occurs.

      I heard the Apostle of Allah, (peace_be_upon_him) say: When you enter into the inah transaction, hold the tails of oxen, are pleased with agriculture, and give up conducting jihad (struggle in the way of Allah). Allah will make disgrace prevail over you, and will not withdraw it until you return to your original religion.

Jihad Revisited

This post is a follow up to a six part series on Jihad which was posted at Freedom Ain't Free, Snooper's Word Press blog. Part one of the series is here. The series has been republished in Windows Help File (chm) format and can be downloaded from the New Extended Library at Crusader's Armory. The quotes from Reliance of the Traveller are documented in EgregiousAyat.chm, also available from the library linked above. There is no more authoritative source than the handbook of Sharia. I have linked to the text file used as my source.

The quote from the Noble Qur'an footnote to 2:190 is OCR'd from the pdf file linked below. Note that the syntax & vocabulary match that of Sahih Bukhari, which was also translated by Hilali.

I have added emphasis to make the most critical clauses stand out. With a careful reading, you will discover the congruent pattern formed by the Qur'an, hadith & Sharia which is derived from them.

Lets take another look at the definition of Jihad. First, as defined by Sharia.

The Reliance of the Traveller

Chapter O-9.0: Jihad
(O: Jihad means to war against non-Muslims, and is etymologically derived from the word mujahada signifying warfare to establish the religion. And it is the lesser jihad. As for the greater jihad, it is spiritual warfare against the lower self (nafs), which is why the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) said as he was returning from jihad.
"We have returned from the lesser jihad to the greater jihad.''
The scriptural basis for jihad, prior to scholarly consensus (def: b-7) is such Koranic verses as:
1- "Fighting is prescribed for you'' (Koran 2:216);
2- "Slay them wherever you find them'' (Koran 4:89);
3- "Fight the idolators utterly'' (Koran 9:36);
and such hadiths as the one related by Bukhari and Muslim that the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) said:
"I have been commanded to fight people until they testify that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and perform the prayer, and pay zakat. If they say it, they have saved their blood and possessions from me, except for the rights of Islam over them. And their final reckoning is with Allah'';
and the hadith reported by Muslim,
"To go forth in the morning or evening to fight in the path of Allah is better than the whole world and everything in it.''Details concerning jihad are found in the accounts of the military expeditions of the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace), including his own martial forays and those on which he dispatched others. The former consist of the ones he personally attended, some twenty-seven (others say twenty-nine) of them. He fought in eight of them, and killed only one person with his noble hand, Ubayy ibn Khalaf, at the battle of Uhud. On the latter expeditions he sent others to fight, himself remaining at Medina, and these were forty-seven in number.)
  • Jihad means to war against non-Muslims. And Moe proved it at least 74 times. What more do we need to know?
Second, we'll examine the translator's commentary from The Noble Qur'an 2:190.[2:190; English translation not shown.]
V. 2:190) Al-Jihad (holy fighting) ln AlIah's Cause (with full force of numbers
and weaponry) is given the utmost importance in Islam and is one of its pillars (on
which it stands). By Jihad Islam is established, Allah's Word is made superior, (His
Word belng La Haha illallah which means none has the right to be worshipped but
Allah), and His Religion (Islam) is propagated. By abandoning Jihad (may Allah
protect us from that) Islam is destroyed and the Muslims fall into an inferior
position; their honour is lost, their lands are stolen, their rule and authority vanish.
Jihad is an obligatory duty In Islam on every Muslim, and he who tries to escape
from this duty, or does not in his innermost heart wish to fulfil this duty, dies with
one of the qualities of a hypocrite.
Narrated Abdullah bin Masud I asked Allah's Messenger, 'O Allah's Messenger!
what is th e best deed?' He replied, "To offer the Salat (prayers) at their early fixed
stated times.' I asked, 'What is next ln goodness?" He replied, 'To be good and
dutlful to your parents." I further asked, 'What is next in goodness?' He replied,
'To participate in Jihad in Allaha's Cause.' I did not ask AIIAh's Messenger anymore

We have two definitions:
  • Jihad:
    • means to war against non-Muslims
      • signifying warfare to establish the religion
    • (holy fighting) ln AlIah's Cause.
      • By Jihad Islam is established
Clearly those definitions tend toward aggression: "warfare to establish"; Islam is propagated.
But Abdullah Yusuf Ali disagrees:
  • v.190 : War is only permissible in self-defence,...
Likewise Muhammad Assad.
  • v.190 : This and the following verses lay down unequivocally that only self-defence (in the widest sense of the word) makes war permissible for Muslims. ...
What did Allah say?


  • 2:190. And fight in the Way of Allâh those who fight you, but transgress not the limits. Truly, Allâh likes not the transgressors. [This Verse is the first one that was revealed in connection with Jihâd, but it was supplemented by another (V.9:36)].

    • Permission for defense does not rule out aggression.
  • 22:39. Permission to fight is given to those (i.e. believers against disbelievers), who are fighting them, (and) because they (believers) have been wronged, and surely, Allâh is Able to give them (believers) victory.
    • Once again, defense is permitted but offense is not barred.
  • 9:123. O you who believe! Fight those of the disbelievers who are close to you, and let them find harshness in you, and know that Allâh is with those who are the Al-Muttaqûn (the pious - see V.2:2).
    • Obvious authorization for aggression!
What did Moe say?
Sahih Bukhari Volume 1, Book 8, Number 387:
Narrated Anas bin Malik:
Allah's Apostle said, "I have been ordered to fight the people till they say: 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah.' And if they say so, pray like our prayers, face our Qibla and slaughter as we slaughter, then their blood and property will be sacred to us and we will not interfere with them except legally and their reckoning will be with Allah." Narrated Maimun ibn Siyah that he asked Anas bin Malik, "O Abu Hamza! What makes the life and property of a person sacred?" He replied, "Whoever says, 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah', faces our Qibla during the prayers, prays like us and eats our slaughtered animal, then he is a Muslim, and has got the same rights and obligations as other Muslims have."
Bukhari Volume 4, Book 52, Number 196:
Narrated Abu Huraira:
Allah 's Apostle said, " I have been ordered to fight with the people till they say, 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah,' and whoever says, 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah,' his life and property will be saved by me except for Islamic law, and his accounts will be with Allah, (either to punish him or to forgive him.)"
Abu Dawud 14.2635
Narrated Anas ibn Malik:

The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said: I am commanded to fight with men till they testify that there is no god but Allah, and that Muhammad is His servant and His Apostle, face our qiblah (direction of prayer), eat what we slaughter, and pray like us. When they do that, their life and property are unlawful for us except what is due to them. They will have the same rights as the Muslims have, and have the same responsibilities as the Muslims have.
Where the Hell did he get that idea: commanded/ordered to fight?
  • 8:39. And fight them until there is no more Fitnah (disbelief and polytheism: i.e. worshipping others besides Allâh) and the religion (worship) will all be for Allâh Alone [in the whole of the world ]. But if they cease (worshipping others besides Allâh), then certainly, Allâh is All-Seer of what they do.
  • 9:29. Fight against those who (1) believe not in Allâh, (2) nor in the Last Day, (3) nor forbid that which has been forbidden by Allâh and His Messenger (4) and those who acknowledge not the religion of truth (i.e. Islâm) among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.
No mention of defense in those commands; they are imperatives of aggressive conquest. Ibn Kathir confirms it.

  • Allah commanded His Messenger to strive hard against the disbelievers and the hypocrites and to be harsh against them. ... Ibn `Abbas said, "Allah commanded the Prophet to fight the disbelievers with the sword, to strive against the hypocrites with the tongue and annulled lenient treatment of them.'' Ad-Dahhak commented, "Perform Jihad against the disbelievers with the sword and be harsh with the hypocrites with words, and this is the Jihad performed against them.'' ...The Order for Jihad against the Disbelievers and Hypocrites
  • ...Allah commanded His Messenger to fight the People of the Scriptures, Jews and Christians, on the ninth year of Hijrah, and he prepared his army to fight the Romans and called the people to Jihad announcing his intent and destination....The Order to fight People of the Scriptures until They give the Jizyah
  • Allah then commanded fighting the disbelievers when He said:..(...until there is no more Fitnah) meaning, Shirk. ...Allah's statement: (...and the religion (all and every kind of worship) is for Allah (Alone).) means, `So that the religion of Allah becomes dominant above all other religions.' ....The Order to fight until there is no more Fitnah
  • Allah said, (And fight them until there is no more Fitnah, and the religion will all be for Allah alone.)...

    (I was commanded to fight against the people until they proclaim, `There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah.' If and when they say it, they will preserve their blood and wealth from me, except for its right (Islamic penal code), and their reckoning is with Allah, the Exalted and Most Honored.) ... The Order to fight to eradicate Shirk and Kufr

Jihad means war, Allah commanded Moe to make war against Pagans, Jews & Christians. What does Islamic law say about this?We turn once more to Reliance of the Traveller.

O9.1: The Obligatory Character of Jihad

Jihad is a communal obligation (def: c3.2). When enough people perform it to successfully accomplish it, it is no longer obligatory upon others (O: the evidence for which is the Prophet's saying (Allah bless him and give him peace),

"He who provides the equipment for a soldier in jihad has himself performed jihad,"

and Allah Most High having said:

"Those of the believers who are unhurt but sit behind are not equal to those who fight in Allah's path with their property and lives. Allah has preferred those who fight with their property and lives a whole degree above those who sit behind. And to each, Allah has promised great good" (Koran 4:95).

If none of those concerned perform jihad, and it does not happen at all, then everyone who is aware that it is obligatory is guilty of sin, if there was a possibility of having performed it. In the time of the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) jihad was a communal obligation after his emigration (hijra) to Medina. As for subsequent times, there are two possible states in respect to non-Muslims.

The first is when they are in their own countries, in which case jihad (def: o9.8) is a communal obligation, and this is what our author is speaking of when he says, "Jihad is a communal obligation," meaning upon the Muslims each year.

The second state is when non-Muslims invade a Muslim country or near to one, in which case jihad is personally obligatory (def: c3.2) upon the inhabitants of that country, who must repel the non-Muslims with whatever they can).

Jihad is a communal obligation which must be performed each year, against us in our own countries. What???

O-9.8: The Objectives of Jihad
The caliph (o-25) makes war upon Jews, Christians, and Zoroastrians (N: provided he has first invited them to enter Islam in faith and practice, and if they will not, then invited them to enter the social order of Islam by paying the non-Muslim poll tax (jizya, def: o-11.4) -which is the significance of their paying it, not the money itself-while remaining in their ancestral religions) (O: and the war continues) until they become Muslim or else pay the non-Muslim poll tax (O: in accordance with the word of Allah Most High,
"Fight those who do not believe in Allah and the Last Day and who forbid not what Allah and His messenger have forbidden-who do not practice the religion of truth, being of those who have been given the Book-until they pay the poll tax out of hand and are humbled" (Koran 9.29),
the time and place for which is before the final descent of Jesus (upon whom be peace). After his final coming, nothing but Islam will be accepted from them, for taking the poll tax is only effective until Jesus' descent (upon him and our Prophet be peace), which is the divinely revealed law of Muhammad. The coming of Jesus does not entail a separate divinely revealed law, for he will rule by the law of Muhammad. As for the Prophet's saying (Allah bless him and give him peace),
"I am the last, there will be no prophet after me,"
this does not contradict the final coming of Jesus (upon whom be peace), since he will not rule according to the Evangel, but as a follower of our Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) ).

O-9.9
The caliph fights all other peoples until they become Muslim (O: because they are not a people with a Book, nor honored as such, and are not permitted to settle with paying the poll tax (jizya) ) (n: though according to the Hanafi school, peoples of all other religions, even idol worshippers, are permitted to live under the protection of the Islamic state if they either become Muslim or agree to pay the poll tax, the sole exceptions to which are apostates from Islam and idol worshippers who are Arabs, neither of whom has any choice but becoming Muslim (al-Hidaya sharh Bidaya al-mubtadi' (y-21), 6.48-49) ).

So much for the defensive war theory. It is aggressive, must be performed in every year, and continues until the whole world is subjugated.

Abu Dawud Book 14, Number 2526


Narrated Anas ibn Malik:
