Jihad Revisited

This post is a follow up to a six part series on Jihad which was posted at Freedom Ain't Free, Snooper's Word Press blog. Part one of the series is here. The series has been republished in Windows Help File (chm) format and can be downloaded from the New Extended Library at Crusader's Armory. The quotes from Reliance of the Traveller are documented in EgregiousAyat.chm, also available from the library linked above. There is no more authoritative source than the handbook of Sharia. I have linked to the text file used as my source.

The quote from the Noble Qur'an footnote to 2:190 is OCR'd from the pdf file linked below. Note that the syntax & vocabulary match that of Sahih Bukhari, which was also translated by Hilali.

I have added emphasis to make the most critical clauses stand out. With a careful reading, you will discover the congruent pattern formed by the Qur'an, hadith & Sharia which is derived from them.

Lets take another look at the definition of Jihad. First, as defined by Sharia.

The Reliance of the Traveller

Chapter O-9.0: Jihad
(O: Jihad means to war against non-Muslims, and is etymologically derived from the word mujahada signifying warfare to establish the religion. And it is the lesser jihad. As for the greater jihad, it is spiritual warfare against the lower self (nafs), which is why the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) said as he was returning from jihad.
"We have returned from the lesser jihad to the greater jihad.''
The scriptural basis for jihad, prior to scholarly consensus (def: b-7) is such Koranic verses as:
1- "Fighting is prescribed for you'' (Koran 2:216);
2- "Slay them wherever you find them'' (Koran 4:89);
3- "Fight the idolators utterly'' (Koran 9:36);
and such hadiths as the one related by Bukhari and Muslim that the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) said:
"I have been commanded to fight people until they testify that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and perform the prayer, and pay zakat. If they say it, they have saved their blood and possessions from me, except for the rights of Islam over them. And their final reckoning is with Allah'';
and the hadith reported by Muslim,
"To go forth in the morning or evening to fight in the path of Allah is better than the whole world and everything in it.''Details concerning jihad are found in the accounts of the military expeditions of the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace), including his own martial forays and those on which he dispatched others. The former consist of the ones he personally attended, some twenty-seven (others say twenty-nine) of them. He fought in eight of them, and killed only one person with his noble hand, Ubayy ibn Khalaf, at the battle of Uhud. On the latter expeditions he sent others to fight, himself remaining at Medina, and these were forty-seven in number.)

• Jihad means to war against non-Muslims. And Moe proved it at least 74 times. What more do we need to know?

Second, we'll examine the translator's commentary from The Noble Qur'an 2:190.[2:190; English translation not shown.]

V. 2:190) Al-Jihad (holy fighting) ln AlIah's Cause (with full force of numbers
and weaponry) is given the utmost importance in Islam and is one of its pillars (on
which it stands). By Jihad Islam is established, Allah's Word is made superior, (His
Word belng La Haha illallah which means none has the right to be worshipped but
Allah), and His Religion (Islam) is propagated. By abandoning Jihad (may Allah
protect us from that) Islam is destroyed and the Muslims fall into an inferior
position; their honour is lost, their lands are stolen, their rule and authority vanish.
Jihad is an obligatory duty In Islam on every Muslim, and he who tries to escape
from this duty, or does not in his innermost heart wish to fulfil this duty, dies with
one of the qualities of a hypocrite.
Narrated Abdullah bin Masud I asked Allah's Messenger, 'O Allah's Messenger!
what is th e best deed?' He replied, "To offer the Salat (prayers) at their early fixed
stated times.' I asked, 'What is next ln goodness?" He replied, 'To be good and
dutlful to your parents." I further asked, 'What is next in goodness?' He replied,
'To participate in Jihad in Allaha's Cause.' I did not ask AIIAh's Messenger anymore

• Al-Jihad (holy fighting) ln AlIah's Cause (with full force of numbers and weaponry) is given the utmost importance in Islam and is one of its pillars (on which it stands).

We have two definitions:

• Jihad:
• means to war against non-Muslims
• signifying warfare to establish the religion
• (holy fighting) ln AlIah's Cause.
• By Jihad Islam is established

Clearly those definitions tend toward aggression: "warfare to establish"; Islam is propagated.
But Abdullah Yusuf Ali disagrees:

• v.190 : War is only permissible in self-defence,...

Likewise Muhammad Assad.

• v.190 : This and the following verses lay down unequivocally that only self-defence (in the widest sense of the word) makes war permissible for Muslims. ...

What did Allah say?

• 2:190. And fight in the Way of Allâh those who fight you, but transgress not the limits. Truly, Allâh likes not the transgressors. [This Verse is the first one that was revealed in connection with Jihâd, but it was supplemented by another (V.9:36)].
  

  • Permission for defense does not rule out aggression.
• 22:39. Permission to fight is given to those (i.e. believers against disbelievers), who are fighting them, (and) because they (believers) have been wronged, and surely, Allâh is Able to give them (believers) victory.
• Once again, defense is permitted but offense is not barred.
• 9:123. O you who believe! Fight those of the disbelievers who are close to you, and let them find harshness in you, and know that Allâh is with those who are the Al-Muttaqûn (the pious - see V.2:2).
• Obvious authorization for aggression!

What did Moe say?

Sahih Bukhari Volume 1, Book 8, Number 387:
Narrated Anas bin Malik:
Allah's Apostle said, "I have been ordered to fight the people till they say: 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah.' And if they say so, pray like our prayers, face our Qibla and slaughter as we slaughter, then their blood and property will be sacred to us and we will not interfere with them except legally and their reckoning will be with Allah." Narrated Maimun ibn Siyah that he asked Anas bin Malik, "O Abu Hamza! What makes the life and property of a person sacred?" He replied, "Whoever says, 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah', faces our Qibla during the prayers, prays like us and eats our slaughtered animal, then he is a Muslim, and has got the same rights and obligations as other Muslims have."

Bukhari Volume 4, Book 52, Number 196:
Narrated Abu Huraira:
Allah 's Apostle said, " I have been ordered to fight with the people till they say, 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah,' and whoever says, 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah,' his life and property will be saved by me except for Islamic law, and his accounts will be with Allah, (either to punish him or to forgive him.)"

Abu Dawud 14.2635
Narrated Anas ibn Malik:

The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said: I am commanded to fight with men till they testify that there is no god but Allah, and that Muhammad is His servant and His Apostle, face our qiblah (direction of prayer), eat what we slaughter, and pray like us. When they do that, their life and property are unlawful for us except what is due to them. They will have the same rights as the Muslims have, and have the same responsibilities as the Muslims have.

Where the Hell did he get that idea: commanded/ordered to fight?

• 8:39. And fight them until there is no more Fitnah (disbelief and polytheism: i.e. worshipping others besides Allâh) and the religion (worship) will all be for Allâh Alone [in the whole of the world ]. But if they cease (worshipping others besides Allâh), then certainly, Allâh is All-Seer of what they do.
• 9:29. Fight against those who (1) believe not in Allâh, (2) nor in the Last Day, (3) nor forbid that which has been forbidden by Allâh and His Messenger (4) and those who acknowledge not the religion of truth (i.e. Islâm) among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.

No mention of defense in those commands; they are imperatives of aggressive conquest. Ibn Kathir confirms it.

• Allah commanded His Messenger to strive hard against the disbelievers and the hypocrites and to be harsh against them. ... Ibn `Abbas said, "Allah commanded the Prophet to fight the disbelievers with the sword, to strive against the hypocrites with the tongue and annulled lenient treatment of them.'' Ad-Dahhak commented, "Perform Jihad against the disbelievers with the sword and be harsh with the hypocrites with words, and this is the Jihad performed against them.'' ...The Order for Jihad against the Disbelievers and Hypocrites
• ...Allah commanded His Messenger to fight the People of the Scriptures, Jews and Christians, on the ninth year of Hijrah, and he prepared his army to fight the Romans and called the people to Jihad announcing his intent and destination....The Order to fight People of the Scriptures until They give the Jizyah
• Allah then commanded fighting the disbelievers when He said:..(...until there is no more Fitnah) meaning, Shirk. ...Allah's statement: (...and the religion (all and every kind of worship) is for Allah (Alone).) means, `So that the religion of Allah becomes dominant above all other religions.' ....The Order to fight until there is no more Fitnah
• Allah said, (And fight them until there is no more Fitnah, and the religion will all be for Allah alone.)...

  (I was commanded to fight against the people until they proclaim, `There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah.' If and when they say it, they will preserve their blood and wealth from me, except for its right (Islamic penal code), and their reckoning is with Allah, the Exalted and Most Honored.) ... The Order to fight to eradicate Shirk and Kufr

Jihad means war, Allah commanded Moe to make war against Pagans, Jews & Christians. What does Islamic law say about this?We turn once more to Reliance of the Traveller.

O9.1: The Obligatory Character of Jihad

Jihad is a communal obligation (def: c3.2). When enough people perform it to successfully accomplish it, it is no longer obligatory upon others (O: the evidence for which is the Prophet's saying (Allah bless him and give him peace),

"He who provides the equipment for a soldier in jihad has himself performed jihad,"

and Allah Most High having said:

"Those of the believers who are unhurt but sit behind are not equal to those who fight in Allah's path with their property and lives. Allah has preferred those who fight with their property and lives a whole degree above those who sit behind. And to each, Allah has promised great good" (Koran 4:95).

If none of those concerned perform jihad, and it does not happen at all, then everyone who is aware that it is obligatory is guilty of sin, if there was a possibility of having performed it. In the time of the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) jihad was a communal obligation after his emigration (hijra) to Medina. As for subsequent times, there are two possible states in respect to non-Muslims.

The first is when they are in their own countries, in which case jihad (def: o9.8) is a communal obligation, and this is what our author is speaking of when he says, "Jihad is a communal obligation," meaning upon the Muslims each year.

The second state is when non-Muslims invade a Muslim country or near to one, in which case jihad is personally obligatory (def: c3.2) upon the inhabitants of that country, who must repel the non-Muslims with whatever they can).

Jihad is a communal obligation which must be performed each year, against us in our own countries. What???

O-9.8: The Objectives of Jihad
The caliph (o-25) makes war upon Jews, Christians, and Zoroastrians (N: provided he has first invited them to enter Islam in faith and practice, and if they will not, then invited them to enter the social order of Islam by paying the non-Muslim poll tax (jizya, def: o-11.4) -which is the significance of their paying it, not the money itself-while remaining in their ancestral religions) (O: and the war continues) until they become Muslim or else pay the non-Muslim poll tax (O: in accordance with the word of Allah Most High,
"Fight those who do not believe in Allah and the Last Day and who forbid not what Allah and His messenger have forbidden-who do not practice the religion of truth, being of those who have been given the Book-until they pay the poll tax out of hand and are humbled" (Koran 9.29),
the time and place for which is before the final descent of Jesus (upon whom be peace). After his final coming, nothing but Islam will be accepted from them, for taking the poll tax is only effective until Jesus' descent (upon him and our Prophet be peace), which is the divinely revealed law of Muhammad. The coming of Jesus does not entail a separate divinely revealed law, for he will rule by the law of Muhammad. As for the Prophet's saying (Allah bless him and give him peace),
"I am the last, there will be no prophet after me,"
this does not contradict the final coming of Jesus (upon whom be peace), since he will not rule according to the Evangel, but as a follower of our Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) ).

O-9.9
The caliph fights all other peoples until they become Muslim (O: because they are not a people with a Book, nor honored as such, and are not permitted to settle with paying the poll tax (jizya) ) (n: though according to the Hanafi school, peoples of all other religions, even idol worshippers, are permitted to live under the protection of the Islamic state if they either become Muslim or agree to pay the poll tax, the sole exceptions to which are apostates from Islam and idol worshippers who are Arabs, neither of whom has any choice but becoming Muslim (al-Hidaya sharh Bidaya al-mubtadi' (y-21), 6.48-49) ).

So much for the defensive war theory. It is aggressive, must be performed in every year, and continues until the whole world is subjugated.

Abu Dawud Book 14, Number 2526


Narrated Anas ibn Malik:

The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said: Three things are the roots of faith: to refrain from (killing) a person who utters, "There is no god but Allah" and not to declare him unbeliever whatever sin he commits, and not to excommunicate him from Islam for his any action; and jihad will be performed continuously since the day Allah sent me as a prophet until the day the last member of my community will fight with the Dajjal (Antichrist). The tyranny of any tyrant and the justice of any just (ruler) will not invalidate it. One must have faith in Divine decree.

Observe this list of accursed deceptions:

• Many world leaders, leading media organizations, television and radio stations told their own people that true Islam forbids violence, and commands peace between people and nations. Henceforth you know, and should have no doubt that whenever you see or hear a statement to the effect that Islam is a religion of peace, tolerance & non-violence, that you are coming under the influence of a damned liar who can not be trusted.

Moe's Legacy of Violence

OIC Statement by Ambassador Masood Khan on "Incitement to Racial and Religious Hatred and the Promotion of Tolerance" at The Human Rights Council, Geneva, 21 September 2006

First the immediate context. Pope Benedict XVI’s recent speech in Regensburg University has led to protests in the Muslim world. His quotation from the 14th century Byzantine Emperor, Manuel II Paleologos, has deeply hurt the sensibilities of the Muslim all over the world. Since then we are reassured that the Pope has expressed regrets, distanced himself from the quotation from the emperor and given an invitation for frank dialogue, with mutual respect.

Unfortunately, that is not the end of the story because the Pope’s remarks have ignited a controversy about the true message of the Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) and Islam. The Pope’s qualified and carefully worded apology, if it can be called one, or the Vatican’s clarification gives the impression that the Muslims have not fully understood the intent and reasoning behind the papal lecture. The irony is that they have.

The Emperor’s quotation is based on three elements: allegation against the Prophet’s legacy; a statement that Islam was spread by the sword; and a derivation that there is a nexus between violence and Islam and violence in Jihad.

The Ambassador takes up the three elements individually.

1. Moe's legacy.

One, the Prophet’s legacy is one of peace and amity; not of strife or war. He was a peace-maker and a peace-builder.

Is that statement objectively true? Leaving the Qur'an aside for the moment as Allah's legacy, not Moe's, lets consider the Hadith which are Islam's oral tradition of Moe's legacy.

Was Moe a man of peace?

• Sahih Bukhari Volume 1, Book 8, Number 387:

  The Prophet said, "By Him in Whose Hands my life is! Were it not for some men amongst the believers who dislike to be left behind me and whom I cannot provide with means of conveyance, I would certainly never remain behind any Sariya' (army-unit) setting out in Allah's Cause. By Him in Whose Hands my life is! I would love to be martyred in Al1ah's Cause and then get resurrected and then get martyred, and then get resurrected again and then get martyred and then get resurrected again and then get martyred.
• Sahih Muslim Book 019, Number 4294:
  It has been reported from Sulaiman b. Buraid through his father that when the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) appointed anyone as leader of an army or detachment he would especially exhort him to fear Allah and to be good to the Muslims who were with him. He would say: Fight in the name of Allah and in the way of Allah. Fight against those who disbelieve in Allah. Make a holy war, do not embezzle the spoils; do not break your pledge; and do not mutilate (the dead) bodies; do not kill the children. When you meet your enemies who are polytheists invite them to three courses of action. If they respond to any one of these, you also accept it and withold yourself from doing them any harm. Invite them to (accept) Islam; if they respond to you, accept it from them and desist from fighting against them. Then invite them to migrate from their lands to the land of Muhairs and inform them that, if they do so, they shall have all the privileges and obligations of the Muhajirs. If they refuse to migrate, tell them that they will have the status of Bedouin Muilims and will be subjected to the Commands of Allah like other Muslims, but they will not get any share from the spoils of war or Fai' except when they actually fight with the Muslims (against the disbelievers). If they refuse to accept Islam, demand from them the Jizya. If they agree to pay, accept it from them and hold off your hands. If they refuse to pay the tax, seek Allah's help and fight them...
  

If you imagine that I have cherry picked selections to make Moe look bad, click the link to the Book of Jihad in Malik's Muwatta and read the section heading. The saying quoted below reveals Moe's true nature; for this reason it has been Bowdlerized from most of the on line collections.

Bukhari Ch 61 # 2756: ...It is mentioned from Ibn 'Umar from the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, "My provision has been placed under the shadow of my spear, and abasement and humility have been placed on the one who disobeys my command.

Those are not the sentiments of a man of peace; that is the attitude of a pirate, not a prophet.

2. Islam was spread by the sword

The footnotes to 2:190 the Hilali & Khan translation are informative.

If Islam was not propagated militarily then explain the prominent place of conquests in this table of contents of Islamic history.

3. and a derivation that there is a nexus between violence and Islam and violence in Jihad

Hilali & Khan stretched matters a bit with their claim that Jihad is a pillar of Islam; it is not in the recognized list. Note their definition, in the foot note quoted above. Compare it to the definition found in Sharia.

Now it is established, by Islamic law, that Jihad is warfare to establish the religion. What is the the connection between Islam and violence? To fully comprehend it, you should read the entire Qur'an. Three Surhas, 8, 9 & 48 are particularly significant, but violence runs throughout the book, in 164 verses.

Jihad is mandatory, not optional.

• 2:216. Jihad (holy fighting in Allah's Cause) is ordained for you (Muslims) though you dislike it, and it may be that you dislike a thing which is good for you and that you like a thing which is bad for you. Allah knows but you do not know.

The penalty for shirking is extreme: eternity in Hell fire.

• 9:39. If you march not forth, He will punish you with a painful torment and will replace you by another people, and you cannot harm Him at all, and Allah is Able to do all things.

Jihad is the key to salvation.

• 64:10. O You who believe! Shall I guide you to a commerce that will save you from a painful torment.
• 64:11. That you believe in Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad), and that you strive hard and fight in the Cause of Allah with your wealth and your lives, that will be better for you, if you but know!
• 64:12. (If you do so) He will forgive you your sins, and admit you into Gardens under which rivers flow, and pleasant dwelling in Gardens of 'Adn ­ Eternity ['Adn (Edn) Paradise], that is indeed the great success.
• 64:13. And also (He will give you) another (blessing) which you love, help from Allah (against your enemies) and a near victory. And give glad tidings (O Muhammad) to the believers.

Is there any violence? Is fighting violence? Do killing & wounding involve violence?

• 9:29. Fight against those who (1) believe not in Allah, (2) nor in the Last Day, (3) nor forbid that which has been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger (4) and those who acknowledge not the religion of truth (i.e. Islam) among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.
• 47:4. So, when you meet (in fight Jihad in Allah's Cause), those who disbelieve smite at their necks till when you have killed and wounded many of them, then bind a bond firmly (on them, i.e. take them as captives). Thereafter (is the time) either for generosity (i.e. free them without ransom), or ransom (according to what benefits Islam), until the war lays down its burden. Thus [you are ordered by Allah to continue in carrying out Jihad against the disbelievers till they embrace Islam (i.e. are saved from the punishment in the Hell-fire) or at least come under your protection], but if it had been Allah's Will, He Himself could certainly have punished them (without you). But (He lets you fight), in order to test you, some with others. But those who are killed in the Way of Allah, He will never let their deeds be lost,

Chapter O-9.0: Jihad
(O: Jihad means to war against non-Muslims, and is etymologically derived from the word mujahada signifying warfare to establish the religion. And it is the lesser jihad. As for the greater jihad, it is spiritual warfare against the lower self (nafs), which is why the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) said as he was returning from jihad.
``We have returned from the lesser jihad to the greater jihad.''
The scriptural basis for jihad, prior to scholarly consensus (def: b-7) is such Koranic verses as:
1- ``Fighting is prescribed for you'' (Koran 2:216);
2- ``Slay them wherever you find them'' (Koran 4:89);
3- ``Fight the idolators utterly'' (Koran 9:36);
and such hadiths as the one related by Bukhari and Muslim that the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) said:
``I have been commanded to fight people until they testify that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and perform the prayer, and pay zakat. If they say it, they have saved their blood and possessions from me, except for the rights of Islam over them. And their final reckoning is with Allah'';

Details concerning jihad are found in the accounts of the military expeditions of the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace), including his own martial forays and those on which he dispatched others. The former consist of the ones he personally attended, some twenty-seven (others say twenty-nine) of them. He fought in eight of them, and killed only one person with his noble hand, Ubayy ibn Khalaf, at the battle of Uhud. On the latter expeditions he sent others to fight, himself remaining at Medina, and these were forty-seven in number.)

Al Misri overlooked 8:39, 9:29, 9:123 & 47:4 in that explanation. To those who would deny the clear and obvious meaning of the cited ayat, I answer with Ibn Kathir's scholarly exegeses, which includes the ayat and relevant hadith. The tafsir titles alone should be sufficient to clue you in. Click them and read the entire text, ignoring the Arabic, which is translated in the text.

The caliph (o-25) makes war upon Jews, Christians, and Zoroastrians (N: provided he has first invited them to enter Islam in faith and practice, and if they will not, then invited them to enter the social order of Islam by paying the non-Muslim poll tax (jizya, def: o-11.4) -which is the significance of their paying it, not the money itself-while remaining in their ancestral religions) (O: and the war continues) until they become Muslim or else pay the non-Muslim poll tax (O: in accordance with the word of Allah Most High,
"Fight those who do not believe in Allah and the Last Day and who forbid not what Allah and His messenger have forbidden-who do not practice the religion of truth, being of those who have been given the Book-until they pay the poll tax out of hand and are humbled" (Koran 9.29),
the time and place for which is before the final descent of Jesus (upon whom be peace). After his final coming, nothing but Islam will be accepted from them, for taking the poll tax is only effective until Jesus' descent (upon him and our Prophet be peace), which is the divinely revealed law of Muhammad. The coming of Jesus does not entail a separate divinely revealed law, for he will rule by the law of Muhammad. As for the Prophet's saying (Allah bless him and give him peace),
"I am the last, there will be no prophet after me,"
this does not contradict the final coming of Jesus (upon whom be peace), since he will not rule according to the Evangel, but as a follower of our Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) ).

The caliph fights all other peoples until they become Muslim (O: because they are not a people with a Book, nor honored as such, and are not permitted to settle with paying the poll tax (jizya) ) (n: though according to the Hanafi school, peoples of all other religions, even idol worshippers, are permitted to live under the protection of the Islamic state if they either become Muslim or agree to pay the poll tax, the sole exceptions to which are apostates from Islam and idol worshippers who are Arabs, neither of whom has any choice but becoming Muslim (al-Hidaya sharh Bidaya al-mubtadi' (y-21), 6.48-49) ).

How frequently does the Caliph attack Kuffar?

@O9.1: The Obligatory Character of Jihad

Jihad is a communal obligation (def: c3.2). When enough people perform it to successfully accomplish it, it is no longer obligatory upon others (O: the evidence for which is the Prophet's saying (Allah bless him and give him peace),

"He who provides the equipment for a soldier in jihad has himself performed jihad,"

and Allah Most High having said:

"Those of the believers who are unhurt but sit behind are not equal to those who fight in Allah's path with their property and lives. Allah has preferred those who fight with their property and lives a whole degree above those who sit behind. And to each, Allah has promised great good" (Koran 4:95).

If none of those concerned perform jihad, and it does not happen at all, then everyone who is aware that it is obligatory is guilty of sin, if there was a possibility of having performed it. In the time of the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) jihad was a communal obligation after his emigration (hijra) to Medina. As for subsequent times, there are two possible states in respect to non-Muslims.

The first is when they are in their own countries, in which case jihad (def: o9.8) is a communal obligation, and this is what our author is speaking of when he says, "Jihad is a communal obligation," meaning upon the Muslims each year.

The Caliph makes war upon Kuffar because it is Allah's command expressed in 8:39 & 9:29. That is Islamic law because Allah commanded and Muhammad exemplified it. See the Tafsir topics including the word order from the list provided above.

We don’t teach this shameful and humiliating history of the deaths of Tears of Jihad for another reason. If we understand the past, then we understand that it is happening today. We don’t want to know it because that would mean we have to do something. We are like the man who suspects that his wife is cheating on him, but doesn't want to know, because if he knew he would have to act. Ignorance is a good enough reason to do nothing.

But we must teach the apologist dhimmis the history of the subjugated dhimmis. The brutality of dhimmitude is too much to dismiss. The deaths of 270 million are too many to ignore. And what is worse, 210 million of these dead kafirs are “people of color". Even your uber-liberal dhimmis can get upset at the suffering of "people of color".

Christians are ignorant about Islam and don't know how to use Mohammed for their benefit. If you know the life of Mohammed, you can use his brutality, enslavement of kafirs, deceit, and bigotry to attack Islam. The best strategy is to use the knowledge about Mohammed and the Koran to first cause the Muslim to become an apostate and leave Islam. Then they can convert the apostate to Christianity.

It is time for Christians to learn the truth about political Islam's history and doctrine. Protestant Christianity invented universal education. They must repeat this. This time they must educate themselves about the factual truth aboutIslam.

WTOL 11, a CBS affiliate in Toledo, reports an interview with Senator Obama on their web site.

Obama has pledged to give a speech in a "major Islamic forum" to "redefine our struggle" against fundamentalism within his first 100 days in office. Aides have said the speech would take place in an unspecified Muslim-majority country. Asked what form the redefinition would take, Obama differed little from standard Bush rhetoric on the subject, saying he would "make it clear that the United States is not at war with Islam . . . [and] stands ready to support those who reject violence with closer security cooperation . . . [and] increased foreign assistance."

What is Islam if not 'fundamentalism' ? When Islam renovates itself every hundred years, what will it turn to if not the documents which constitute its foundation?

"Our struggle" is against fundamentalism? No! Our self defense effort must be targeted at the source; the damnable doctrines which motivate Muslims to murder, rape, pillage, plunder & cast terror. Those damnable doctrines are an intrinsic part of the core of Islam; they can not be severed from it.

If we don't stop men from maintaining & propagating the belief that they are under an interminable mandate to conquer & subjugate us, this war will not end without our death or enslavement. Either we sever Muslims from their belief system or we sever them from the surface of the earth. There are no acceptable alternatives. Surrender is not an option. Perpetual warfare is not an option.

Obama's promised speech will "make it clear that the United States is not at war with Islam". This alone is sufficient to disqualify Obama from high office. No Goddamn fool should be in the Senate, much less the White House. Islam is at war against us. We must reciprocate. If we do not prosecute war against the source of attack against us, we will surely be defeated and lose our lives, liberties & property.

Islam is at war against us. War against Jews & Christians was declared by Moe, in Allah's name, subsequent to the Hegira and previous to Moe's death in 632. Observe Rodwell's translation of the declaration. [Emphasis added.]

One must go on jihad (i.e. warlike razzias or raids) at least once a year […] one may use a catapult against them [non-Muslims] when they are in a fortress, even if among them are women and children. The destruction of the sword is incurred by infidels, although they be not the first aggressors, as appears from various passages in the traditions which are generally received to this effect. […] When the Muslims enter the enemy’s country and besiege the cities or strongholds of the infidels, it is necessary to invite them to embrace the faith, because Ibn Abbas relates of the Prophet that he never destroyed any without previously inviting them to embrace the faith. If, therefore, they embrace the faith, it is unnecessary to war with them, because that which was the design of the war is then obtained without war. […] If the infidels, upon receiving the call, neither consent to it nor agree to pay capitation tax, it is then incumbent on the Muslims to call upon God for assistance, and to make war upon them […] [ Sheikh Burhanuddin Ali of Marghinan, d. 1196, hanafi. Since lawful warfare is essentially jihad and since its aim is that the religion is God’s entirely and God’s word is uppermost,[Bukhari 4.53.355] therefore, according to all Muslims, those who stand in the way of this aim must be fought. As for those who cannot offer resistance or cannot fight, such as women, children, monks, old people, the blind, handicapped, and their likes, they shall not be killed, unless they actually fight with words [i.e. by propaganda] and acts [e.g. by spying or otherwise assisting in the warfare]. […] we may only fight those who fight us when we want to make God’s religion victorious. […] This jihad is obligatory if it is carried out on our intitiative and also if it is waged as defence. If we take the initiative, it is a collective duty, [which means that] if it is fulfilled by a sufficient number [of Muslims], the obligation lapses for all others and the merit goes to those who have fulfilled it […] But if the enemy wants to attack the Muslims, then repelling him becomes a duty for all those under attack and for the others in order to help them. So the latter [form of jihad] consists in defense of the religion, of things that are inviolable, and of lives. Therefore it is fighting out of necessity. The former, however, is voluntary fighting in order to propagate the religion, to make it triumph and to intimidate the enemy, such as was the case with the expedition to Tabuk and the like. Ibn Kathir's Tafsir confirms the declaration of war and its eventual outcome:

• The Order to fight People of the Scriptures until They give the Jizyah
• The Order for Jihad against the Disbelievers, the Closest, then the Farthest Areas
• The Good News that Muslims will Dominate the People of the Book
• The Good News that Muslims will conquer the Known World, and ultimately the Entire World

[The United States] " stands ready to support those who reject violence with closer security cooperation . . . [and] increased foreign assistance"

To reject violence, Muslims must reject Islam; they must cease being Muslims. . Violence is intrinsic to Islam, whose demon commands them to fight pagans until only Allah is worshiped; "people of the book" until they pay extortion in a state of subjugation. Those commands are confirmed by Muhammad's Sunnah, Fiqh & Tafsir. Jihad is ordained for Muslims. Participation in Jihad is essential to a Muslim's salvation from Hellfire [61:10...13].

Vocal denial is not sufficient; it is impossible to trust a Muslim because he is given license to deceive Kuffar for self protection and the advancement of Islam. That deception tactic is called al-Taqeyya.

• 3:118 O you who believe! Take not as (your) Bitânah (advisors, consultants, protectors, helpers, friends, etc.) those outside your religion (pagans, Jews, Christians, and hypocrites) since they will not fail to do their best to corrupt you. They desire to harm you severely. Hatred has already appeared from their mouths, but what their breasts conceal is far worse. Indeed We have made plain to you the Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses) if you understand.
• 16:106 Whoever disbelieved in Allâh after his belief, except him who is forced thereto and whose heart is at rest with Faith but such as open their breasts to disbelief, on them is wrath from Allâh, and theirs will be a great torment.
• [...]For instance, Al-Bukhari recorded that Abu Ad-Darda' said, "We smile in the face of some people although our hearts curse them.'' Al-Bukhari said that Al-Hasan said, "The Tuqyah is allowed until the Day of Resurrection.''[...]
• [...]A liar is not one who tries to bring reconciliation amongst people and speaks good (in order to avert dispute), or he conveys good. Ibn Shihab said he did not hear that exemption was granted in anything what the people speak as lie but in three cases: in battle,[...]

He has pledged to [...] spend $2 billion on education to counter fundamentalist Islamic madrassas in countries such as Pakistan.

How does Obama hope to stop madrassas from inculcating Allah's damnable commands? Reading, math & science instruction will only supplement, not supplant study of Moe's revelation, example & Sharia. We can not stop Jihad by throwing money down the toilet.

If President Obama would end the war by surrendering & submitting to Islam, the time for revealing his grand plan is now, before the election, so that we can make an informed choice and reject him. If he thinks that there is some possibility of obtaining & maintaining peace and security without eliminating Islam from the face of the earth, now is the time for him to inform us so that we can reject him. If he lacks the spinal fortitude required to effectively wage war against Islam on both fronts (military & ideological) this is the time to inform us so that we can reject him.

The same goes for all aspirants to high office. I therefore renew my challenge to the candidates. Now I must challenge you, the reader. You know, by evidence from Islam's canon of scripture, tradition & jurisprudence, that Islam is a war machine, neither a religion nor peaceful. You know that it has declared and is prosecuting unremitting war against us. You know that it will not cease from attacking until it succeeds or is exterminated. What are you going to do about it?

Will you sit on this knowledge or will you share it with others? Will you ignore this knowledge, or will you take due notice and vote against any candidate who expresses admiration or respect for Islam or refuses to denounce it?

If you love life & liberty, you will not hesitate, but will take the following actions:

Whereas Islam is a mercenary institution;

• They ask you (O Muhammad) about the spoils of war. Say: "The spoils are for Allâh and the Messenger." So fear Allâh and adjust all matters of difference among you, and obey Allâh and His Messenger (Muhammad), if you are believers. Qur'an 8:1

U.N. Bans Criticism of Islam

On Tuesday, December 24, 2007, The United Nations General Assembly, passed by a vote of 108 to 51; 25 members abstaining, a resolution of the most despicable hypocrisy. " Combating defamation of religions".

In fact, the title is the first lie; only Islam is of interest to the General Assembly. The resolution was sponsored by Pakistan with the support of the OIC.

Herein you will find excerpts taken out of context, in block quotes, followed by my comments. Note that the resolution is one long run on sentence worthy of Faulkner. [Emphasis added.]

Recalling that all States have pledged themselves, under the Charter of the
United Nations, to promote and encourage universal respect for and observance of
all human rights and fundamental freedoms without distinction as to race, sex,
language or religion,

How about the right to live unmolested, secure in one's person & property, and to believe and worship or disbelieve and abstain from worship as one sees fit? These fundamental rights are denied by Islam. Allah said:

• And fight them until there is no more Fitnah (disbelief and polytheism: i.e. worshipping others besides Allâh) and the religion (worship) will all be for Allâh Alone [in the whole of the world ]. But if they cease (worshipping others besides Allâh), then certainly, Allâh is All-Seer of what they do. 8:39

What institution directly contravenes the rights above referenced? The very institution we are exhorted to protect from defamation: Islam! The resolution reeks of hypocrisy.

religion or belief constitutes an affront to human dignity and a disavowal of the
principles of the Charter,

Human dignity? What human dignity! And if they say so, pray like our prayers, face our Qibla and slaughter as we slaughter, then their blood and property will be sacred to us[...] How can anyone read those words without cursing Islam? Who discriminates on the grounds of religion? Does not the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia prohibit the entry of Jews? Does not the Kingdom of Jordan prohibit selling real property to Jews? Has no General Assembly Delegate read the Pact of Umar?

• We shall not build, in our cities or in their neighborhood, new monasteries, Churches, convents, or monks' cells, nor shall we repair, by day or by night, such of them as fall in ruins or are situated in the quarters of the Muslims.
• We shall not manifest our religion publicly nor convert anyone to it. We shall not prevent any of our kin from entering Islam if they wish it.
• We shall show respect toward the Muslims, and we shall rise from our seats when they wish to sit.
• We shall not display our crosses or our books in the roads or markets of the Muslims. We shall use only clappers in our churches very softly. We shall not raise our voices when following our dead. We shall not show lights on any of the roads of the Muslims or in their markets. We shall not bury our dead near the Muslims.

If a man has knowledge of this, yet does not curse Islam, he has no soul and ought to be cast directly into Hell!

The Taliban prohibited and still wages an intimidation campaign against girls going to school. In Egypt at the present time, two teenage boys are suing for continuance of their education. Their father converted from Christianity to Islam in order to obtain a divorce. Egypt demands that they pass a test in Quranic studies in order to continue their education. The U.N. does not give a damn about that injustice.

for all religious and cultural values and address instances of intolerance,
discrimination and incitement of hatred against any community or adherents of any

The Qur'an, Hadith & Fiqh command discrimination, intolerance, genocide & terror against Jews, Christians & Zoroastrians. Why in Hell is there no resolution outlawing Islam's canon of scripture, tradition & law? The present resolution condemns the victims while shielding the perpetrators. Such hypocrisy exposes the U.N. to well deserved contempt and detestation.
