UN: Intolerance; Problem or Solution?

Agreed Draft Resolution on the Elimination of all forms of intolerance and of discrimination based on religion or belief
Nov. 25 '08

[Insertions are red italic face, deletions are struck through. ]

PP 10 Reffirming that everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience, religion or belief, which includes the freedom to have or to adopt a change one's religion or belief of ones choice and the freedom, either alone or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest one's religion or belief in teaching, practice, worship and observance,

Originally, the text would have guaranteed the right to convert, the deletion and insertion is obviously a concession to Islam, which prohibits Muslims from abandoning Islam under pain of death.

PPll Seriously concerned at all attacks on religious places, sites and shrines, in violation of international law, in particular human rights and humanitarian law, including any deliberate destruction of relics and monuments,

Oh boy! They're serious about all attacks... but only if they violate international law. Did the destruction at Bamiyan violate international law?

PPl2 Seriously concerned also at any misuse of registration procedures and at the resort to discriminatory registration procedures as a means to limit the right to freedom of religion or belief of members of certain religious communities, at the limitations placed on religious materials and at the obstacles placed in the way of construction of places of worship inconsistent with the exercise of the right to freedom of religion or belief,

This is probably a reference to current practice in Egypt, which discriminates against Copts.

PP14 Expressing deep concern at alt forms of discrimination and intolerance, including prejudices against persons and derogatory stereotyping of persons, based on religion or belief,

PP l5 Recognizing the importance of enhanced interreligious and intrareligious dialogue in promoting tolerance in matters relating to religion or belief, and welcoming different initiatives in this regard, including the Alliance of Civilizations and the programmes led by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organ ization,

How do they hope to enhance that which never existed and never will? Islam holds monologues, not dialogues: "Embrace Islam and you will be safe." Their "common word" is submit: we must submit to them.

Emphasizing that States, regional organizations, non-governmental organizations, religious bodies and the media have an important role to play in promoting tolerance, respect for religious and cultural diversity and in the universal promotion and protection of human rights, including freedom of religion or belief,

Yeah, like that is going to happen in the real world.

PPIT Convinced of the need to address the rise in all various parts of the world of religious extremism that affects the rights of individuals, the situations of where violence and discrimination that affect many women as well as other
individuals from other vulnerable groups are carried out on the grounds or in the name of religion or belief or in accordance with cultural and traditional practices, and the misuse of religion or belief for ends inconsistent with the Charter of the United Nations, as well as other relevant instruments of the United Nations,

Is this a hint of revulsion at wife beating, which Allah permits?

PP18 Underlining the importance of education in the promotion of tolerance, which involves the acceptance by the public of, and its respect for, diversity,including with regard to religious expression, and underlining also the fact that
education, in particular at school, should contribute in a meaningful way to promoting tolerance and the elimination of discrimination based on religion or belief,

PP19 Reaffirming, in this regard, that education shall be directed to the full development of the human personality and to the strengthening of respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms and shall promote understanding, tolerance and friendship among all nations, racial or religious groups and further the activities of the United Nations for the maintenance of peace

Translation: substitute iindoctrination for education.

Emphasizes that, as underlined by the Human Rights Committee, restrictions on the freedom to manifest one's religion or belief are permitted only if limitations are prescribed by law, are necessary to protect public safety, order, health or morals, or the fundamental rights and freedoms of others, are nondiscriminatory and are applied in a manner that does not vitiate the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion which implies that these limitations must be non discriminatory and and directly related and proportionate to the specific need on which they are predicated;

How does prohibiting Jews & Christians from building churches, ringing bells, displaying crosses, holding processions and public ceremonies protect the public safety, order, health or morals? How does it protect the rights of others? How can it be done without discrimination? Is there some reason why limitations should not be directly related & proportionate to the specific purpose?

Recognizes with deep concern the overall rise in instances of intolerance and violence directed against members of many religious and other communities in various parts of the world, including cases motivated by Islamophobia, anti-Semitism and Christianophobia;

Where the Hell is Islamophobia motivating violence against Muslims? Ain't it all going the other direction; against Jews, Christians. Alawaites & Ahmadia?

5. Expresses concern over the persistence of institutionalized social intolerance and discrimination practised against many in the name of religion or belief;

6. Recalls that legal procedures pertaining to religious or belief-based groups and places of worship are not a prerequisite for the exercise of the right to manifest one's religion or belief;

7 . E m p h a s i z e s t h a t the conduct of s u c h p r o c e d u r e s , as d e s c r i b e d i n paragraph 5 6 above, at the national or local level, and as and when legally required, should be non-discriminatory in order to contribute to the effective protection of the right of all persons to practise their religion or belief either individually or in community with others and in public or private;

The laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia prohibit the practice of Christianity. When will this fact be addressed openly in one of these feel good resolutions? Is anyone conscious of the logical fallacy involved in this resolution?

9. Urges States to step up their efforts to eliminate intolerance and discrimination based on religion or belief to protect and promote the freedom of thought, conscience, religion or belief, and to this end:

(a) To ensure that their constitutional and legislative systems provide adequate and effective guarantees of freedom of thought conscience, religion and belief to all without distinction, inter alia, by the provision of effective remedies in cases where the right to freedom of thought, conscience, religion or belief, or the right to practise freely one's religion, including the right to change one's religion or belief, is violated;

Fat chance of this happening in any Islamic theocracy.
(b) To ensure that no one within their jurisdiction is deprived of the right to life, liberty or security of person' because of religion or belief and that no one is subjected to torture and or other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment, or arbitrary arrest or detention on that account and to bring to justice all perpetrators of violations of these rights;

Who is willing to bell the cat?

(c) To ensure that no one is discriminated against on the basis of his or her religion or belief when accessing, inter alia, education, medical care, employment, humanitarian assistance or social benefits;

(d) To review, whenever relevant, existing registration practices in order to ensure that such practices do not limit the right of any all persons to manifest their his or her religion or belief, alone or in community with others and in public or in private;

No way will the UN or anyone else attempt to force Saudi Arabia to allow Christians to build churches and hold services.

(e) To ensure that no official documents are withheld from the individual on the grounds of for reasons grounded in a person's religion or belief and that everyone has the right to refrain from disclosing information concerning one's religious affiliation on such documents against one's will if religious affiliation is mentioned in any such documents, the individual has the right to refrain from disclosing this type of information, or to indicate "other religion or "no religion":

(f) To ensure that everyone has the right and opportunity to have access, in general terms of equality, to public service in one's country, without any discrimination on the basis of religion or belief, To refrain from forcing someone who wishes to fill a public post to take an oath swearing his or her allegience to any religion against his will;

(g) To provide, in the case where official recognition of religious marriages exists, for the alternative of a civil registration of marriages.

(g) To ensure, in particular, the right of all persons to worship or assemble in connection with a religion or belief and their right to establish and maintain places for these purposes and the right of all persons to establish and maintain places for these purposes and the right of all persons to write, issue and disseminate relevant publications in these areas;

All of these provisions are in direct contravention of Sharia. None of them will fly.

(h) To ensure that, in accordance with appropriate national legislation and in conformity with international human rights law, the freedom of all persons and members of groups to establish and maintain religious, charitable or humanitarian institutions is fully respected and protected;

(i) To exert the utmost efforts, in accordance with their national legislation and in conformity with international human rights law, to ensure that religious places, sites, shrines and symbols are fully respected and protected and to take additional measures in cases where they are vulnerable to desecration and destruction;

(j). To ensure that all public officials and civil servants, including members of law enforcement bodies, the military and educators, in the course of fulfilling their official duties, respect all religions or beliefs and do not discriminate for reasons based on religion or belief, and that all necessary and appropriate education or training is provided;

10. Condemns any advocacy of religious hatred that constitutes incitement to discrimination, hostility or violence, whether it involves the use of print, audiovisual or electronic media or any other means;

Qur'ans are printed, ain't they? I have seen one at Borders. The Qur'an, in the electronic form I refer to, sanctifies and mandates discrimination, hostility & violence. It declares perpetual war against pagans, Jews and Christians which, according to hadith, is to continue until Judgment Day. What do you propose to do about it?

It is obvious on the face of the resolution, that #10 is aimed at those of us who criticize Islam, not at Islam's canon of scripture, tradition & jurisprudence, where the fault resides and from which the violence emanates. Doubters are referred to Surah Al-Anfal, Surah Al-Taubah & Reliance of the Traveller, Book O, Chapter 9.

11. Emphasizes that freedom of religion or belief and freedom of expression are interdependent, interrelated and mutually reinforcing

All rights depend on the right to life, without which we have no rights at all. Islam denies us that right, declaring that our blood and property are not sacred to Muslims until we join them and declaring perpetual war upon us until only Allah is worshiped in the entire world and Jews & Christians are subjugated & extorted. To protect our right to life, we must be free to name and accurately describe the entitity which seeks to conquer and enslave us. That entity is Islam. These resolutions seek to criminalize the very expressions requisite to discussing effective defense of western civilization.

12. Urges States to step up their efforts to eliminate intolerance and discrimination based on religion or belief, notably by:

(a) Taking all necessary and appropriate action, in conformity with international standards of human rights, to combat hatred, discrimination, intolerance and acts of violence, intimidation and coercion motivated by
intolerance based on religion or belief, as well as incitement to hostility and violence, with particular regard to members of religious minorities in all parts of the world, and devoting particular attention to practices that violate the human rights of women and discriminate against women, including in the exercise of their right to
freedom of thought, conscience, religion or belief;

Implementing this provision would require outlawing the propagation & practice of Islam. Besides propagating perpetual genocidal & terroristic war, Islam denies the rights and dignity of minorities and relegates women to the status of chattel who must be subordinate and may be beaten.

(b) Promoting and encouraging, through education and other means, understanding, tolerance and respect in all matters relating to freedom of religion or belief and undertaking all appropriate efforts to encourage those engaged in teaching to promote mutual understanding, tolerance and respect;

Promoting tolerance & respect for Islam is entirely counter productive to any effort to maximize peace, security and religious liberty. Islam gives no respect and is worthy of none. No sane and informed person will respect or tolerate Islam.

13. Also emphasixes that no religion should be equated with terrorism, as this may have adverse consequences on the enjoyment of the right to freedom of religion or belief of all members of the religious communities concerned,

#13 is the most damned foolishness imaginable. Has none of the authors read the Qur'an or Hadith? Let me help them out.

3:151
USC Fahd
Terrorism is sanctified. We shall cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve, because they joined others in worship with Allah, for which He had sent no authority; their abode will be the Fire and how evil is the abode of the Zâlimûn (polytheists and wrongdoers).

Allah next conveys the good news that He will put fear of the Muslims, and feelings of subordination to the Muslims in the hearts of their disbelieving enemies, because of their Kufr and Shirk. The Prohibition of Obeying the Disbelievers; the Cause of Defeat at Uhud

Anyone of normal intelligence should not need that tafsir from Ibn Kathir to comprehend the meaning of the ayeh.

8:12
USC Fahd
Terrorism Sanctified. (Remember) when your Lord inspired the angels, "Verily, I am with you, so keep firm those who have believed. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who have disbelieved, so strike them over the necks, and smite over all their fingers and toes."

(I will cast terror into the hearts of those who have disbelieved.) means, `you -- angels -- support the believers, strengthen their (battle) front against their enemies, thus, implementing My command to you. I will cast fear, disgrace and humiliation over those who defied My command and denied My Messenger Allah commands the Angels to fight and support the Believers

33:26
USC Fahd
Practical application of terror. And those of the people of the Scripture who backed them (the disbelievers) Allah brought them down from their forts and cast terror into their hearts, (so that) a group (of them) you killed, and a group (of them) you made captives

We see from the Qur'an that casting terror is a sacrament of Islam, one which Allah & Moe practiced routinely. The oral tradition of Moe's companions, compiled into collections of hadith, confirms this fact; Moe bragged about it!

Muhammad's special privileges:
awe, booty, global mission.
Bukhari Volume 1, Book 7, Number 331:
Narrated Jabir bin 'Abdullah:
The Prophet said, "I have been given five things which were not given to any one else before me.
1. Allah made me victorious by awe, (by His frightening my enemies) for a distance of one month's journey.
2. The earth has been made for me (and for my followers) a place for praying and a thing to perform Tayammum, therefore anyone of my followers can pray wherever the time of a prayer is due.
3. The booty has been made Halal (lawful) for me yet it was not lawful for anyone else before me.
4. I have been given the right of intercession (on the Day of Resurrection).
5. Every Prophet used to be sent to his nation only but I have been sent to all mankind.

How did Allah make Moe victorious?

Terror makes victory. Bukhari Volume 4, Book 52, Number 220:
Narrated Abu Huraira:

Allah's Apostle said, "I have been sent with the shortest expressions bearing the widest meanings, and I have been made victorious with terror (cast in the hearts of the enemy), and while I was sleeping, the keys of the treasures of the world were brought to me and put in my hand." Abu Huraira added: Allah's Apostle has left the world and now you, people, are bringing out those treasures (i.e. the Prophet did not benefit by them).

Islam is rightly associated with terrorism because:
  1. Allah sanctified it.
  2. Moe practiced it.
  3. Moe bragged about its good effect.
14. Stresses the need to strengthen dialogue, inter alia; through the Alliance of Civilizations and its High Representative and the focal point designated within the Secretariat by the General Assembly in its resolution 62/90 and the High Representative of the Alliance and the focal point designated within the Secretariat, as welcomed by the General Assembly in its resolution 32/80 to interact with various entities in the United Nations system and coordinate their contribution to dialogue;

15. Emphasizes the importance of a continued and strengthened dialogue among and within religions or beliefs, at all levels and with a broader participation, including of women, to promote greater tolerance, respect and mutual
understanding;

16. Invites all actors to address in the context of interreligious and inter cultural dialogue, inter alia, the following issues within the framework of international human rights:

(a) The rise of religious extremism affecting religions in all parts of the world;

Islamic Jihad, genocide & terrorism are not extremism, they are the standard; set by Allah & exemplified by Moe.

(b) The situations where of violence and discrimination that affect many women as well as other individuals from other vulnerable groups are carried out on the grounds or in the name of religion or belief or in accordance with cultural and traditional practices;

(c) The misuse of religion or belief for ends inconsistent with the Charter of the United Nations, as well as other relevant instruments of the United Nations;

Islamic Jihad, genocide & terrorism are not misuse of religion; they are Islam's mission. Had you read the Qur'an & hadith, you would know that Islam is mercenary & martial, by design.

17. Welcomes and encourages the continuing efforts of all actors in society, including non-governmental organizations and bodies and groups based on religion or belief, to promote the implementation of the Declaration on the Elimination of All Forms of Intolerance and of Discrimination Based on Religion or Belief,6 and
further encourages their work in promoting freedom of religion or belief and in highlighting cases of religious intolerance, discrimination and persecution;

18. Recommends that States, the United Nations and other actors, including non-governmental organizations and bodies and groups based on religion or belief, in their efforts to promote freedom of religion or belief, ensure the widest possible dissemination of the text of the Declaration on the Elimination of All Forms of Intolerance and of Discrimination Based on Religion or Belief, in as many different languages as possible, and promote its implementation;

19. Welcomes the work and the interim report of the Special Rapporteur on freedom of religion or belief;7

That report, like this and related resolutions, demands censorship of Islam's critics; they would criminalize this blog post..

20. Urges all Governments to cooperate fully with the Special Rapporteur, to respond favourably to her requests to visit their countries and to provide all necessary information for the effective fulfillment of her mandate;

21. Requests the Secretary-General to ensure that the Special Rapporteur receives the necessary resources to fully discharge her mandate;

22. Requests the Special Rapporteur to submit an interim report to the General Assembly at its sixty-fourth session;

23. Decides to consider the question religious intolerance at its sixty-fourth session and protection of human rights".

The next session would do well to begin their study of intolerance by reading 3:85 and . The ayat previously cited above also bear on this subject. Take due notice thereof and govern yourselves accordingly.

6 See resolution 36155.
7 See A/63/ l 6 l .
